The expansion project for this retirement home aimed to create a new image for the main entrance by creating a bright, spacious and welcoming volume for the clientele. The main challenge was to add to all existing buildings a new, contemporary-style extension, while harmonizing with the rustic style of the façades dominated by red cladding and white aluminum windows and balconies.
The new volume, sober and refined, integrates while standing out. The goal was to signal the new entrance from the street and to be inviting. Enlargement is necessary while wearing a sober materiality, dominated by white aluminum panels, large windows and masonry of gray bricks. The wood, applied underneath the large marquise, brings an element of warmth and richness to the whole.
